Premium Vinyl Siding — Beauty Without the Maintenance

CertainTeed premium vinyl siding installed by certified MD & DE crews. Lifetime warranties, 25+ colors, zero maintenance for decades.

Vinyl Siding for Maryland & Delaware Homes

Vinyl siding remains the most installed exterior cladding in America for one simple reason: when properly specified and professionally installed, it delivers stunning curb appeal and zero-maintenance performance for decades — at roughly half the cost of fiber cement and a fifth the cost of natural cedar. Potomac Custom Remodeling has installed vinyl on more than 1,200 homes across the Mid-Atlantic, from Chesapeake Bay waterfront properties in Annapolis to inland communities in Bowie, Crofton, Frederick, Dover, and Lewes.

We install exclusively from CertainTeed — including the MainStreet, Monogram, CedarBoards, and Cedar Impressions product lines — the most respected vinyl manufacturer in North America. Every line is backed by a lifetime limited transferable warranty.

Why Panel Thickness Matters — .044" Is Our Floor

Builder-grade vinyl is typically .040" or thinner; you can flex it with one hand and it bows in summer heat. Premium .044"-.046" panels lay flat, resist wind, and hold their geometry through 30+ summers of Mid-Atlantic UV. We do not install anything thinner, regardless of price pressure. Our most upgraded line — CertainTeed Monogram XL — is .052".

Profiles & Architectural Options

Traditional horizontal lap (4", 4.5", 5", 6", and Dutch-lap exposures), board-and-batten vertical siding for farmhouse and modern looks, and shake or shingle profiles for accent gables. Mixing profiles — horizontal field with shake gables — is the single highest-impact upgrade for most colonial and Cape Cod homes.

Insulated Vinyl Siding (CedarBoards & Structure)

EPS foam-backed vinyl panels eliminate the air gap behind the siding, add R-2.0 to R-3.0 to your wall, dramatically improve impact resistance, and reduce exterior noise by up to 45%. Strongly recommended for homes built before 1985, west-facing walls, and any home within 5 miles of the coast.

Lifetime Transferable Warranty — Real Resale Value

CertainTeed offers lifetime limited warranties that transfer to the next homeowner — a meaningful selling point at resale. Coverage includes manufacturing defects, excessive fading, and (on insulated lines) hail damage.

Vinyl Siding in Maryland & Delaware — Local Realities

The Mid-Atlantic punishes builder-grade vinyl. Summer roof-line temperatures push 140°F against west-facing walls, the Eastern Shore catches every Atlantic storm, and freeze-thaw cycles work nail penetrations loose every winter. Premium .044+ panels with proper expansion gaps and stainless fasteners are not a luxury here — they are the floor of acceptable specification.

Code & HOA Requirements

Maryland requires permits for siding replacement in Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George's counties. Delaware permits are required statewide; Sussex County additionally requires high-wind nailing patterns within 10 miles of the coast. HOAs in Crofton, Bowie, Mitchellville, Fairwood, Pinehurst (Frederick), and most Rehoboth/Lewes communities require pre-installation color and profile approval — we handle every submittal.

Coastal & High-Wind Zones

Within 10 miles of the Atlantic or Chesapeake we strongly recommend insulated panels (CedarBoards or Structure) with 150-170 mph ratings, stainless ring-shank nails, and reinforced J-channel at all openings. Standard .040 panels installed in these areas typically fail within 5-7 years.
